SAGE® Improvements Make Survey Season Smarter
We’re kicking off the 2024-2025 season with some great SAGE® improvements to help customers record smarter information and better understand the value of their failed traps.
We’ve enhanced SAGE® to show a refreshed menu when the SAGE UMT® detects a cold trap. It now displays the trap's detected temperature to help the technician better diagnose the condition.
Users can select “Why am I getting this reading?” to learn more about how the UMT measures temperature. There are also guides and troubleshooting steps to help improve the accuracy of the measurement.
If the technician feels they are getting an incorrect reading because the surface finish is incorrectly logged in SAGE®, they can easily select the “Adjust Surface Finish” button to make the correction. We’ve also added more surfaces with clearer descriptions and images to help guide the user. If technicians want to further refine the correction measurement, they can select the “Custom” option and select any emissivity value between 0 and 1 (incremented by 0.05).
Remind your SAGE® customers to update trap status in the resolve feature to keep an accurate view of the system’s efficiency as well as apply a dollar value to CO2 and cold traps for an accurate cost accounting of failed traps. Details are highlighted in the December 2023 edition of Perform and on the tutorial page. You can also watch this webinar. |

ASPE 2024 Delivers
The 2024 American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) Biennial Convention & Expo held October 21st and 22nd at the Columbus convention center did not disappoint!
Consulting plumbing engineers who design hot water systems for new construction and large-scale renovations in commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings have long been a primary target audience for the Armstrong Hot Water group. Armstrong has maintained a strong presence with ASPE for decades as an affiliate partner, and as an exhibitor since 1998.
Our 2024 booth theme “Armada – Digital Solutions for Healthy Hot Water” focused on four pillars: Infection Control, Scald Protection, Sustainability and Compliance. Our theme clearly resonated as our exhibit drew a crowd that was eager to learn about the Armstrong Heat Pump, Ascend® On Demand Water Heating, new BACnet integration and Bluetooth programmability on The Brain® and the exciting new Armstrong Nanobubble Generator. Being A Force For Good
The recent hurricanes that hit Florida and then moved across the Carolinas has devastated many communities. It has also brought out the best in people. We want to share this inspirational story from Stephen Rourke, supervisor at Arconic, part of Armstrong International - Service Group. Thank you, Stephen, for sharing this heart-warming and moving story.

Interest in Vacuum Condensate Return Packages On The Rise
Recently, Armstrong has experienced a rise in requests for our vacuum condensate return packages – a key offering in our electric pump line. These systems are crucial for low-pressure condensate return lines, where condensate needs to be efficiently lifted and returned to the boiler. Initially installed in many high-rise buildings 30 to 40 years ago, customers are now seeking replacement packages to maintain peak system performance.
Our vacuum condensate return packages are designed to enhance energy efficiency by using a powerful vacuum to recover and return valuable condensate. This not only helps reduce operational costs, but also minimizes carbon footprints—making these packages ideal for industries focused on performance optimization and sustainability.

TVS4000F Receives Facelift
Saying goodbye is always hard, but in this case, you don’t have to. The TVS4000F is not going away, just changing its appearance. Going forward it will now feature welded flanges instead of integral flanges. Welded flanges provide more flexibility from an operation and manufacturing standpoint resulting in better lead times. The standard version will have carbon steel nipples and flanges but if all stainless steel is required, we have that option available as well in the configurator. Please contact our application team if you have any questions. |
Nanobubble Generator ANG40 Fills The Gap
The Armstrong Nanobubble Generator is the proven way to prevent and remove scale in hot water systems. We’ve now added a new model – ANG40 – which fills the gap between ANG25 and ANG50. Download the new Armstrong Nanobubble Generator IOM for more information.

New Hot Water Group Website Navigation
The Hot Water Solutions section of the Armstrong website has been updated to make it easier to navigate products. We’ve introduced “Featured Products” boxes to elevate our most popular products to the top of the page and a refreshed menu of options that categorizes our solutions portfolio in a more logical manner.
There are several pathways to get to where you want to go. In addition to the handy “search” box in the upper right corner we’ve also reduced the number of clicks that takes to get to our products. We’ve also updated the site to include our latest innovations: Ascend®, ABH XL, and Armstrong Nanobubble Generator, along with updated content within many of the individual product categories.

Heat Transfer Representative School Makes A Colorful Debut
Last month the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group hosted its fall representative school. Not only were attendees treated to a majestic color display, but they also enjoyed an exquisite cuisine while they learned a bit about our business and solutions.
The two-and-a-half-day school provided in depth information about heat transfer basics as well as a deep dive into our products and markets. Our plant tour gave representatives a first-hand look at the quality and custom solutions that we offer customers. The school culminated in a coil measuring exercise to drive home the representative’s ability to provide expertise in the field. Our 2025 spring representative school is tentatively scheduled for May 5th – 7th. We’ll confirm that date in the new year and be sure to think about who on your sales team would benefit from this in-depth heat transfer sales training experience! |

New Rep Onboarding and Orientation
Has your organization hired new Representatives? Or, has a current Representative changed jobs or perhaps retired? We like to keep our records neat and clean, but we need your help. When there are changes in your organization, log in to your User Portal and click/submit the "Employee Onboarding/Offboarding Form" to keep our business systems updated.
When a new Representative is registered, they will automatically be enrolled in Armstrong's Rep Orientation. The rep will be assigned a username and password to access the Armstrong User Portal and Armstrong University as well as be added to our email distribution lists. Please allow up to 24 hours for a new rep account to be created.
You can also use the form to essentially "remove" a departing Representative from Armstrong's records as well. We appreciate your help in ensuring we always have the most up-to-date contact information for your company. If you have any questions or need help in updating your organization's records, please contact us now.
As our business grows, naturally so does yours. To fortify our partnership and reinforce our support, we have reenergized and restructured our existing Rep onboarding program to better serve new representatives as they begin their selling journey.
Armstrong’s Rep Orientation will include a targeted Armstrong University® curriculum built specifically for Reps supported by Virtual Knowledge “Check Ups”. Once complete, collaborative in-field mentoring will follow ensuring you can apply knowledge to practice on customer calls. |
