STEAM, AIR, AND HOT WATER EDITION

Everactive Trial Underway at CHS

Mead O’Brien has sold another Everactive trial – this time to the CHS refinery in McPherson, Kansas. A walk-through is planned this month with installation to follow in January.

A 90-day trial covers around 50 steam traps in an area covered by a gateway and installation is performed by Everactive to serve as a training opportunity for your team. All data is collected in a free SAGE® trial account for analysis and reporting. Insight sessions are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly with the customer to assess the system and highlight potential savings.

After the trial, a summary of findings is provided to evaluate the ROI and capabilities of the monitoring service. Please contact Philippe Moock if you have any questions related to Everactive.

Snap and Go - Verabar and Accelabar QR Codes

Ever wish you had instant access to a manual while working on a piece of equipment in the field? VERIS Flow Measurement makes your wish come true with the addition of laser etched QR codes on the back of our stainless-steel tags that come with each of our Verabars and Accelabars. Scan the code using your phone camera app and it will automatically take you to the installation and maintenance manual for the appropriate meter IOM that you are working on. Download the QR code reference sheet and give it a try! We’ll be looking to add this feature to all our meters in the future.

And the winner is...

We received a great response to the Thermal Assessments contest and the results are in! Congratulations to Doug Manning of Hatfield & Company, and Dan Gallagher of Merlo Energy. More important than the award itself is the value that conducting Thermal Assessments have brought to our representatives and customers. Here’s what Doug and Dan had to say:

“This past year I have performed several thermal assessments using the Armstrong SAGE® app. It was very intuitive and easy to use in the field – especially the photo function, which is a game changer when reporting. Not only is it easy to write up, but the format presents the information in an easily digestible and professional way. Every one of my customers have been very pleased with the report and it has led to sales of additional products & services. This is truly one of the best tools in the Armstrong toolbox! - Doug Manning, Hatfield & Company

“The TA tool in SAGE® is an easy way to document a sales call. I recently used it to provide a before and after report for two PT-104 pump installations at a small pharmaceutical facility. The contractor who I was providing equipment for was trying to figure out how to document the changes and luckily for him, I already had the report finished. He was able to provide the TA report to the end user/owner/pharmaceutical company to establish what changes were made. This report will be used as part of the process validation by the owner.” - Dan Gallagher, Merlo Energy

We’ll be conducting another Thermal Assessment contest beginning in January! Look for more information in our next issue of perform.

Important Notice: Extended Lead Time for Products

In case you missed it, please review our recent message regarding current lead times for several Armstrong products. To manage expectations and to help you make informed decisions, please make note of products that currently have extended lead times. We continue to experience a significant number of delayed customer orders due to international port congestion, domestic vendor capacity issues, internal capacity limitations, and an increase in orders. Two Brains Are Better Than One

However, one SAGE® panel might be better than two! When considering a two DRV with SAGE® (BS), you have options. The following examples with a DRV80BS also applies to the DRV25BS, DRV40BS and DRV50BS.

Example #1: If the DRV80s will be in different mechanical rooms, order a quantity of two (2) DRV80BS > D40883

Example #2: If the DRV80s will be in the same mechanical room, order a quantity of two (2) DRV80 > D41579 OR 1 SAGE 2 Valve Panel > D76130

The Hot Water Group has intercepted many orders for installations that could be accomplished with a single SAGE® panel configured to monitor two DRVs. The options outlined represent a simplified installation that is less cost to the customer and requires less space. Your customers will appreciate these options that will result in an enjoyable experience that elevates their trust and loyalty to you and Armstrong.
