It’s Game Time In Higher Education

Now is the time to visit your local college and university campus to inquire on their flow measurement needs. These institutions are planning in the fall and winter, and will purchase and install their meters in the spring and summer and VERIS Accelabar® is the perfect fit.

Here’s why:
  • Zero straight run required – many colleges and universities struggle to find installation locations for flow metering with enough straight run due to compact mechanical rooms and older piping infrastructures. The VERIS Accelabar® requires zero straight run and maintains a +/- 0.5% rate accuracy.
  • One meter for all seasons – with its wide range of flow turndowns, VERIS Accelabar® can measure the high loads of winter and the low loads of summer (with common turndowns of up to 35:1).
  • No system shutdown required – VERIS Accelabar® can calibrate the transmitter in the field without shutting down the system.
  • No moving parts – VERIS Accelabar® K factor is based on geometry and does not change with velocity or Reynolds number.
  • No third-party calibration required – VERIS Accelabar® empirically determined K factor is linear across the flow range which eliminates the need for third party calibrations.
Many higher education institutions have standardized on the VERIS Accelabar® so visit your local college and university campus today to inquire and email us for more information.

New Partnership Helps Solve Wet Pack And Sterile Processing Issues

Armstrong is pleased to announce a new partnership with Jonathan Wilder of Quality Processing Resource Group, LLC (QPRG). QPRG provides sterile processing consulting and investigations for healthcare facilities and anywhere steam is produced. When your facilities are struggling with wet packs, staining, or other sterile processing related issues that are beyond your expertise, you may want to contact Jonathan Wilder as an additional resource.

Jon is an industry expert, with in-depth knowledge about compliance standards that hospitals are required to meet. He can provide an independent check of how they conform to AAMI best practices, the Joint Commission and CMS, providing a deep technical dive into the function of their washers and sterilizers, and providing adjustments and recommendations for system modifications.

Jon will be promoting our Quality Monitoring equipment in applications where it benefits the client. QPRG will receive a finder’s fee, paid by Armstrong, when a new lead results in a sale of a Quality Monitor. Those leads and orders will be processed through our local representative and the normal discounts will apply.

We’ve encouraged Jon to also work with our local representatives on steam system issues that are beyond his area of expertise. We have seen a number of inquiries from our representatives for service support in sterile processing. Our service group has been limited in their ability to respond to these due to travel costs, timing and other challenges. The model provided by QPRG can help fill this gap. We believe this partnership will help provide a broader level of service to our healthcare customers in this challenging, but extremely important area of sterile processing. Email Jon or give him a call at 267-269-2779. Or, contact Scott Jacobson if you have any questions.

Armstrong Announces Rep Network Change

To continue our efforts to provide our customers with exceptional service and an enjoyable experience, Campbell-Sevey is representing Central and Eastern Nebraska along with Western Iowa as of October 26th. Mead O’Brien will now represent Kansas and Missouri. Both of these firms have a track record of outstanding knowledge in thermal utility solutions and a strong reputation of trusted service among their customers. We are confident that this expanded territory representation will meet the needs of our customers.

Armstrong Digital-Flo Units Get Into Hot Water In Pennsylvania County Jail

Armstrong Press (AP) News Release:

THREE RIVERS, MICHIGAN – A total of five DF90WDW80 from this city were recently incarcerated in a Pennsylvania County Jail. They were sentenced to a lengthy term and required to deliver on a daily basis, a precisely tempered community service to their cell mates.

The burly quintuplets were successfully apprehended by Associated Steam and Hot Water with a task force led by Doug Jamison. Doug recently visited two of the DFs and found them in isolation. He took this mugshot and expects them to be commissioned soon. Jamison also shared that one of the boiler water to water PHEs claimed they had all been “framed”.

Congratulations to Associated Steam and Hot Water for the unanimous decision from the jury that put an entire gang of Digital-Flos right where they belong!
