Completed IDFs Matter

An Installation Details Form (IDF) is an important tool to ensure that the sales process is successful for you, your customer, and the Armstrong Hot Water Group. Completed IDFs are required when submitting POs for the following Hot Water Group products:
  • Water Heaters (Flo-Rite-Temp®, Digital-Flo®, Constantemp®, ABH and ASCEND, ReadiTemp®, Flo-Direct®)
  • Mixing Valves and Mixing Centers: The Brain® DRV and Digital Mixing Center, Emech® Digital Control Valves, Thermostatic Mixing Valves, and Sense™
  • Hose Stations: Steamix®, Hot & Cold Water Hose Stations, Single Temperature Hose Stations
  • Accessory products: Armstrong Nanobubble Generator, Variable Frequency Drive Pump
A properly completed HWG IDF initiates warranty coverage. Without it, warranty claims cannot be processed. IDFs also deliver a comprehensive, Armstrong HWG-supported performance guarantee to you and your customer.

Section 1 of most IDF forms identify the physical locations where the product is installed, purchased, and specified. This information is crucial to ensuring accurate commission splits and service coordination. Section 2 requests system details for the application where the purchased product is being installed. Note that even if an order is for a simple replacement, the IDF should be fully completed because system designs may have changed, buildings or campuses may have expanded, or operating conditions may have evolved. These factors must be re-evaluated to ensure that the purchased product will function properly in the existing system.

Without a completed IDF, the Armstrong Hot Water Group cannot process POs for the products listed above. This policy is in place to ensure quality, safety, and accountability, and no exceptions will be made. All IDFs are available in your User Portal.

Have a unique situation? Let’s talk! If your project has special circumstances, please contact the Armstrong Hot Water Group in advance. A quick conversation can help streamline the process and avoid delays. Call 269-279-3602 or email hotwater@armstronginternational.com.

Custom-Built Air Handling Unit Add-Ons

With today’s increased outdoor air requirements, many customers experience heating or cooling capacity deficiencies for air handling units when operating under the increased load. No problem! The Armstrong Heat Transfer Group can build custom add-on fresh air makeup units with filtered heated air. But what about cooling? No problem!

Look at this custom-built add-on fresh air makeup unit with rain hood, bird screen, prefilters, chilled water-cooling coils, and second stage filters after the coils. The unit is custom designed to fit the inlet of an existing AHU and provide the increased cooling capacity and required filtration to bring the AHU up to today’s new standards. If additional fan capacity is needed, we can tackle that too. Contact the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group to learn how we can help provide heated and cooled fresh air makeup systems that are customized to your customers’ requirements.

VERIS Accelabar® Receives High Marks With Higher Education

The University of Delaware had been experiencing recurring performance issues with their existing Rosemount Compact Orifice Plates. The meters frequently failed to provide accurate readings, suffered from low flow cutoff limitations, and were generally considered unreliable. Seeking a more effective solution, the university consulted with the University of Connecticut to learn about their flow measurement approach. UConn strongly endorsed the Accelabar®, noting its consistent accuracy and widespread use across their campus.
At the same time, our Higher Education marketing campaign reached the University of Delaware’s team, prompting them to contact us directly for more information. Within five days, VERIS visited their campus to present the Accelabar® solution to their energy and engineering teams. By the conclusion of that meeting, the university was ready to move forward and issued a purchase order for their first unit.

With a campus-wide shutdown scheduled just three weeks later, we expedited delivery of the Accelabar®, along with its transmitter and flow computer, in time for installation. Following the successful deployment, the University of Delaware has since procured a second Accelabar®, and we are currently collaborating with their team on reviewing specifications for additional future applications.
