STEAM, AIR, AND HOT WATER EDITION

New Corporate Brand Line

As we continue to grow, evolve, and thrive as a global organization, it’s important we not only reflect on the incredible milestones we’ve made over the past 122 years but also remain inspired and innovative as we look toward the future. That’s why Armstrong International is proud to announce the launch of our new website and companywide brand line, Experience MattersSM.

We know ‘enjoyable experiences’ has been part of our promise and vision for many years, and as we’ve continued to grow, experience has truly become the backbone of everything we do - beyond just enjoyable experiences. It’s also our knowledge, insight and skill, which is why we provide more impactful solutions around the world. Although this term has evolved, it’s still part of the larger Experience MattersSM brand line.

What is Experience MattersSM?

  • Experience MattersSM embodies the practical experience of being thermal utility experts as well as the brand promise of delivering an enjoyable experience for every customer, every partner, and each other, every time.
  • Our experience is defined by more than a century of knowledge, insight and skill, which is why we provide better, stronger and smarter solutions around the world.

What does Experience Matters mean to us?

Our brand is an expression of who Armstrong is and how we interact with each other and our customers. The brand lives in each one of us, as employees, as we live out our promise to deliver an enjoyable experience for every person, every time.

In short, we are each “caretakers” of the brand. Each of us must take the brand to heart and live out its promise for it to be successful and to make a difference for our customers. We must be consistent in how we think, act and present ourselves. Our brand is 122 years in the making, and it has been built with intentionality and collaboration. Ultimately, we build our brand by continually offering an experience that matters, building trust and long-term loyalty then, now and in the future.

How can you contribute to Experience MattersSM?

As we launch Experience MattersSM, we encourage you to communicate the new brand and its promise to customers and partners around the world. With the creation of this new brand line, we continue to deliver on the promise of an enjoyable experience, every time. As a partner of Armstrong, you are vital in helping us keep this promise.

Please view the new brand essence video at your convenience to familiarize yourself with our new integrated brand line. This video also resides in the “Company” section of our new website. In addition, our president and CEO, Doug Bloss kicks off the new brand line in a short video that sets the stage for a larger series of videos from our colleagues around the world. The video series highlights various employees’ insights and personal experiences with the Armstrong brand, and describes what Experience MattersSM means to them.

We encourage you to reflect on what Experience MattersSM means to you and why it matters in your partnership with Armstrong.

Avoid Long Lead Times With Standardized ReadiTemp®

ReadiTemp® – one of Armstrong’s most reliable steam/water heaters – is now available as a pre-piped and pressure-tested standard package. Standardizing ReadiTemp® sizes enables customers with simple installations to forgo sales specials and avoid longer lead times. Customers with more complex installations can still create a fully customized solution through the sales special process.

Six standard-size Armstrong factory builds are available to accommodate flow capacities between 15 GPM and 300 GPM. ReadiTemp® features Emech® digital technology to control water temperatures within 1°F of the programmed set point (within 2°F on larger models). ReadiTemp® is available as standard in the following sizes and configurations for both recirculating and non-recirculating systems:

BACnet Now On Board!

The Armstrong Hot Water Group is pleased to announce that the BACnet MSTP protocol between The Brain Model DRV25 and Building Automation Systems (BAS) is now an integral component and will become a standard feature on every valve available on an as needed basis. We’ve compiled a few frequently asked questions about what this means for you. Please take a moment to view our FAQs and look for more information coming soon in next month's Perform.

Thermal Studies Mean Nothing Without Good Data

There has never been a better time to measure and monitor thermal utilities. As more companies look to improve their bottom-line performance and meet published sustainability goals, understanding thermal energy (steam, air, water, etc.) usage falls into the must-have category and is no longer regulated to the nice-to-have bucket.

In addition to monitoring utilities entering the site such as natural gas, CO2 and water, there is a need to monitor utilities at the output of the utility plant. Flow such as steam, compressed air, chilled water, cooling tower water and hot/cold water streams, also need to be monitored. Additionally, all areas of major generation and consumption (major users) should also be considered a must-measure point.
Our Thermal Engineers are currently conducting multiple Thermal Mapping/Pinch studies and one of the primary issues they are dealing with is the lack of quality data needed to complete the studies in a reasonable timeframe.

If your customers talk to you about sustainability and are interested in a study to find answers on how to best reach their energy/sustainability goals, then consider the data required for the study as well as the available data they have at their fingertips. It’s a great opportunity to move the discussion to flow measurement.

No Capacity For Increased Outdoor Air Ventilation Requirements? No Problem!

With today’s increased outdoor air requirements, many customers are faced with the fact their Air Handling Units cannot provide the additional heating or cooling capacity for the increased load. No problem! The Armstrong Heat Transfer Group can build custom add-on Fresh Air Makeup units with filtered heated air. But what about cooling? No problem!

Look at this custom-built add-on Fresh Air Makeup unit with Rain Hood, Bird Screen, Prefilters, Chilled Water-Cooling Coils, and Second Stage Filters after the coils. The unit is custom designed to fit the inlet of an existing AHU and provide the increased cooling capacity and required filtration to bring the AHU up to today’s new standards. Contact the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group at 450-378-2655 to learn how we can help provide Heated and Cooled Fresh Air Makeup customized to your customers’ requirements.

First Heat Pump Rep School Highlights New Armstrong+Combitherm Heat Pump

Armstrong hosted its first Heat Pump Rep School last November and it provided a great opportunity to cover the basics of refrigeration, chillers and heat pumps, as well as take a deep dive into heat pump applications and system integration.

One of the highlights of the school was a preview of the new Armstrong+Combitherm Heat Pump – a custom engineered, packaged solution for hydronic heating/cooling and general use, or process hot water systems up to 248ºF (120ºC). Armstrong+Combitherm Heat Pumps improve thermal efficiency by reclaiming waste heat and are an excellent choice for facilities that want to implement cost reduction, de-steaming, decarbonization or Net Zero related initiatives. Rajkumar Gnanaraj is shown here with this 1000 kW (3.4 Million BTU) high temperature 248ºF heat pump with R1233zd refrigerant.
