STEAM, AIR, AND HOT WATER EDITION

No Capacity For Increased Outdoor Air Ventilation Requirements? No Problem!

With today’s increased outdoor air requirements, many customers are faced with the fact their Air Handling Units cannot provide the additional heating or cooling capacity for the increased load. No problem! The Armstrong Heat Transfer Group can build custom add-on Fresh Air Makeup units with filtered heated air. But what about cooling? No problem!

Look at this custom-built add-on Fresh Air Makeup unit with Rain Hood, Bird Screen, Prefilters, Chilled Water-Cooling Coils, and Second Stage Filters after the coils. The unit is custom designed to fit the inlet of an existing AHU and provide the increased cooling capacity and required filtration to bring the AHU up to today’s new standards. Contact the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group at 450-378-2655 to learn how we can help provide Heated and Cooled Fresh Air Makeup customized to your customers’ requirements.

Conduct Thermal Assessments And Win An iPad

We had a great response to last year’s Thermal Assessment incentive program, so we are excited to announce its continuation! Thermal Assessments are a great way to uncover opportunities to improve the performance and efficiency of steam, hot water, and condensate systems as well as the safety, reliability, and integrity of the customer’s overall system. Conducting a Thermal Assessment is easy too – especially when using the Thermal Assessment application within SAGE. View the SAGE app tutorial and refer to these example mock assessments that represent a cross section of vertical markets.

As an added incentive, Armstrong will give a new Apple iPad to the representative that generates the most Thermal Assessments between now and June 15, 2022. Please submit your assessments to Nevena Iordanova by June 15th and we’ll notify the winner via email as the reports are tallied.

Food For Thought: No Need To Cry Over Broken Rice

AMK Krishna is a manufacturer and wholesaler of a wide range of rice. AMK was experiencing an unacceptable amount of broken rice in its final product which impacts the grade of rice and consequently, the price that can be charged for it. In addition, the mill was experiencing frequent choking of the heating coil in the dryer unit along with a loss of condensate (water) and energy due to a lack of drainage and return from the coils. View this case study that demonstrates how Armstrong improved the quality of AMK’s product and helped them save money in the process.

Koch Fertilizer In Oklahoma To Conduct Everactive Trial

Hatfield has sold a trial at Koch Fertilizer in Enid, OK. For this trial, around 50 Eversensors will be installed, and the steam traps will be under a tight 90-day monitoring period. As a reminder, a 90-day trial covers around 50 steam traps in an area covered by a gateway and installation is performed by Everactive to serve as a training opportunity for your team. All data are collected in a free SAGE trial account for analysis and reporting. Insight sessions are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly with the customer to assess the system and highlight potential savings. After the trial, a summary of findings is provided to evaluate the ROI and capabilities of the monitoring service. Please contact Philippe Moock if you have any questions related to Everactive.

13 Digital-Flo® Semi-Instantaneous (DFS) Selected By A Premier Healthcare Provider

Ascension is a faith-based healthcare organization dedicated to transformation through innovation across the continuum of care. This national health system operates more than 2,600 sites of care – including 142 hospitals and more than 40 senior living facilities in 19 states and the District of Columbia.

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, formerly known as Baptist Hospital, is a not-for-profit community hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, and the largest such hospital in Middle Tennessee. It is licensed for 683 acute and rehab care beds.

A total of thirteen DFS heat exchangers, featuring The Brain Digital Recirculation Valve and SAGE, will be installed soon in their two-building facility. The project includes eight DFS3540BS, three DFS1540BS, and two DFS5050BS. Hot water generation, precise temperature control, hot water system monitoring and reporting all united on a single source skid.

Driven by Art Cruthirds and his team at Power Equipment, this large DFS purchase will complement our other Ascension installations across the United States and confidently position us to become a corporate design standard.
