STEAM, AIR, AND HOT WATER EDITION

ATM National Meeting Builds Teamwork

At the end of January, Armstrong hosted an ATM national meeting in Detroit that brought together all 10 ATMs as well as Institutional Market Directors and sales personnel from the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group, Steam & Condensate, Hot Water and VERIS Flow Measurement. It was an informative, three-day event that focused on business goals, sales strategies and best practices that strengthen the team to better support you – our representatives – who are on the front lines. Attendees were also challenged to present and moderate topics as well as role playing and a friendly skills competition.

And the ATM of the Year is...

Congratulations to Dennis DeMizio (center), Technical Manager – NY/NJ Metro Region, for winning the coveted title of "ATM of the Year"!

Closely followed were Craig Blaine (left) and Hank Lenzen (right). Qualifications based upon individual divisional sales performance and Salesforce participation in 2019. Please join us in congratulating these gentlemen for this well-earned recognition and achievement!

Process Air Heaters For Demanding Environments

Armstrong process air heaters are ideal for dryer applications such as conveyor dryers, spray dryers, flash dryers and fluid bed dryers found in power generation and pulp/paper plants.

They are constructed of heavy-duty aluminum, copper, carbon and stainless steel and are able to withstand high pressure and high temperature environments. The removable coil (drawer type) design, makes them easy to clean and maintain. Armstrong can also design the units to provide your customers with more capacity to the dryer and increase the process output. Contact the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group at 450-378-2655 for more information and to request a quote.

News Worth Sharing

The November 2019 issue of Plumbing Engineer featured a Code Classroom column entitled “Buildings, Water and Legionella Growth” written by Ron George. Ron is a well-respected consultant and president of Plumb-Tech Design. The article discusses how water systems and medical devices in health-care settings can contribute to bacteria growth if not cleaned and properly maintained.

Ron reported that one of the working groups that met during the ASSE annual meeting was for the ASSE 1017, Temperature Activated Mixing Valves for Hot Water Distribution Systems. There were a lot of discussions to determine if a new standard was needed for the new digital mixing valves. Many thermostatic mixing valve manufacturers historically manufactured their mixing valves with bi-metal or liquid paraffin wax thermostatic elements. Today, many manufacturers are now coming out with digital mixing valve technology.

We appreciate the credit given to Armstrong in this callout near the end of the article where Ron states “The first digital mixing valve on the market was The Brain® by Armstrong International. It is still setting the standard for quality and temperature-control accuracy.”

Please take a moment to read the article and share it with your customers.
