Sharing Knowledge And Building Relationships

In early December, the first Thought Leadership in Higher Education Facilities Management Forum was hosted by Armstrong. The event was designed to grow and develop professionals in higher education facilities management through knowledge sharing. The event drew participation and rave reviews from 32 facility management personnel representing 23 colleges and universities across the country.

The two-day program included sessions on a wide variety of timely topics presented by peers from colleges and universities including Purdue, the University of Buffalo, the University of Nebraska, Notre Dame and Western Michigan University. Highlights included a facilities tour at WMU and the new state-of-the-art Armstrong Global Learning Center. Attendees gave Armstrong a 5-star rating on every category in the post forum survey!

EvaPack™ Offers Advantages Over High-Pressure Atomization

EvaPack™ converts ordinary tap water to water vapor using an evaporative media adiabatic process as opposed to high pressure atomization. With EvaPack™, air heat is used to evaporate the water, so it consumes less energy and minimizes pressure drop. EvaPack™ is also compact, making it easy and fast to install. Learn more about the advantages of EvaPack™ over high-pressure atomization by downloading this white paper.

Understanding Federal Government Procurement Thresholds

When doing business with the federal government, it’s important to understand the requirements that need to be fulfilled based on the dollar size of the orders placed. These Procurement Thresholds were updated last October. Here’s a snapshot of the requirements:

Micro Purchase – Up to $10,000
These orders have the lowest government oversight and transactions are usually made via a credit card. No bidding is required, and the government can buy direct from you!

Simplified Acquisition - $10,000 to $250,000
Intended for bidding by small businesses (as long as two or more bids are received). If two small businesses do not bid, then it can be opened up for bidding by larger businesses.

Purchases of $25,000+
Any purchase of $25,000 or more is typically posted as public information on the Federal Procurement website.

Purchases of $250,000+
Any purchase of $250,000 or more is usually unrestricted by set aside requirements.

Download the Armstrong Government Market Playbook for more information and tips on pursuing government sales.
