STEAM, AIR, AND HOT WATER EDITION

Price Increase Effective October 1

There will be a moderate price adjustment on October 1st that will affect all product lines. The average price increase will be as follows:

  • Steam and Condensate Group - 5.5%
  • Humidification Group - 4%
  • Flow Measurement Group - 6%
  • Hot Water Group - 5%

This price adjustment addresses significant material and wage inflation. As a global manufacturer with plants in many countries, we utilize multiple locations to help us manage our manufacturing costs. While we regularly absorb a certain degree of cost volatility to provide steady and predictable pricing, these adjustments are necessary due to rising costs from global inflation, rising demand and market turbulence in global trade regulations.

Watch for the e-mail announcement during the week of September 24th containing links to download the new price books. In the meantime, please take a moment to let us know if there are any new employees or changes within your organization to ensure they receive the announcement.

Hot-Tap Models Replace Aging Orifice Plates

When a customer has a problem with an existing flow meter and doesn’t want to shut down and de-pressurize the pipe to replace it, the VERIS Verabar® Hot Tap Model is the solution.

Orifice plate users offer an excellent opportunity for VERIS Verabar® Hot Tap sales. Although an orifice plate is prone to warping, wear and deposit build up, a typical installation offers no means to periodically inspect the plate without shutting down the process and depressurizing the pipe. The VERIS Verabar® Hot Tap can be installed without shutting down or cutting the pipe.

Whether a VERIS Verabar® is used in a new installation or as a retrofit, long term accuracy and dependability is guaranteed and backed with a 5-year performance warranty. Download the VERIS Verabar® overview and see page 4 to learn more about Hot Tap. Contact veris-sales@armstronginternational.com for more information.

Turn Up The Heat

The hot weather we’re experiencing now will soon be a distant memory. As we brace for the winter ahead, tank heaters play an important role to protect water tanks and pump houses from freezing to keep customer assets safe. Armstrong can provide a wide range of flanged mounted tank heaters along with base mounted type heaters, for larger tanks. We build them to withstand the rigorous demands of industrial installations. Heavy duty features such as heavy-walled pipes and headers, thick L-footed fins and all-welded construction make Armstrong tank heaters stand up. Contact the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group at 450-378-2655 and turn up the heat this winter.

Different Color. Same Great Quality.

Going forward our standard SH900 Series will no longer be painted. With the 316SS Cast body and the corrosion resistant bolting, the SH900 will have a new look. If you have an application that requires painting, we will still offer that as an option. However, the standard model will have the new and sleek stainless steel shine.

Thought Leadership in Higher Education Facilities Management – December 4-5

New Stainless-Steel Air Vent And Liquid Drainer Now Available

Armstrong has released an all-T316SS version of its popular stainless-steel 11-AV air vent and 11-LD liquid drainer. The new all-316SS design provides increased corrosion resistance for corrosive fluids and environments while also meeting requirements for areas where only 316SS may be used such as in Food/Pharmaceutical and Hydrocarbon/Petrochemical applications. The 11-AV provides a durable and cost-effective solution for venting gases from liquid streams such as water, process liquids, oil/gas and other hydrocarbons. The 11-LD is widely utilized to drain liquids from gas streams such as compressed air, process gas, natural gas and other applications where a compact drainer and an all stainless-steel design prove useful. Download the updated literature or contact Armstrong for more information.

Ramping Up In Higher Education

Back to school time is busy for Higher Education and Armstrong is at the head of the class. The Association of Physical Plant Administrators (APPA) is the key to high level leadership relationship building. These facility leaders are the signatories to major budget projects.

In August, Armstrong and Associated Steam participated at the APPA National Facilities Professionals Conference in Washington, DC. The conference attracted more than 220 educational institutions and nearly 600 facilities professionals. Thanks to Dave Campbell and Hank Adams for supporting this event. Armstrong International also received (for the third time) the 2018 Strategic Business Partner award.

Armstrong and Energy West will be flying our colors at the Rocky Mountain APPA conference, September 23rd-26th in Aurora, CO. This regional conference provides excellent relationship building opportunities with more than 40 different educational institutions attending from North America.

The Pacific Coast Region of APPA will hold its regional meeting in Spokane, WA, September 29th - October 3rd. This region has great opportunity for growth. Thanks to Proctor Sales for supporting this event.

Carotek will be building relationships and exposure for Armstrong during the Southeastern Region APPA conference October 6th – 10th in Greenville, SC. Carotek has done an outstanding job of supporting facilities professionals at state conferences in Georgia and North Carolina.

Merlo-Ohio will be attending the Midwest Region APPA conference October 14th – 18th hosted by Cleveland State University. This strong region of the Big 10 has been a rewarding and ongoing source of revenue for Midwest representatives. Thanks to Merlo-Ohio and Tom Mobley for their commitment to showcase our offering during the same time as the opening of our new global learning center.

We encourage your Rep Agency to become a member of your respective state APPA chapter. View the current listing of active state chapters and contact Tom Hiatt for more information.
