New Digital-Flo® Semi-Instantaneous Water Heater Creates New Sales Opportunities

Armstrong is excited to announce the latest addition to the Digital-Flo® water heater family – the vertical orientated Digital-Flo® Semi-Instantaneous (DFS) water heater. Click here to visit the dedicated product launch webpage on your Armstrong user portal for detailed sales and marketing information that will help you sell this unique new product.

Vertical semi-instantaneous water heaters are commonly used in the higher education and healthcare market where floor space and mechanical room accessibility are at a premium. To minimize hard water scale build up, DFS is also offered with a modulation option.

The DFS water heater product line will provide additional sales opportunities to your existing customers and the ability to meet higher education/institutional specifications that were previously unattainable. As a complete digital offering, the DFS will further enhance Armstrong's hot water market share. DFS is yet another Armstrong innovation that differentiates us from our competition making it an immediate interest to your consulting engineers.

Please contact Tim Jones and Dan Tomlinson with any questions. A webinar training session for the DFS water heaters is scheduled for July 15. Please click the link to register to attend.

For Faster Service – Dial Direct

To better respond to your inquiries, Armstrong has a new automated phone system that enables you to contact Armstrong personnel or departments directly. You will still be able to speak to the operator by pressing zero, but the new system will allow you to choose the desired product group without having to explain your needs to the operator. Once you have chosen the desired group, you will be directed to the next available person. The system also allows you to dial a specific extension or connect to the operator at any time. We’ve organized a list of contacts by department as well as by name. Download the direct-dial directory and keep it as a handy reference.

Upgrade Complete For 1-AVCW

Armstrong has completed the upgrade to the 1-AVCW that includes:

  • Glass-filled polycarbonate material for the cap and inlet
  • Polycarbonate body
  • All 316SS internals including valve, seat and mech
  • 316SS annealed float
  • Aflas O-rings

The upgrade was made to keep pace with the higher concentration of ozone that we are experiencing. Unfortunately, this upgrade also carries added costs for parts, but we are working to keep costs contained. The new part number is D668459 and is priced at $363  list each. Download the updated brochure for more information.

Updated Price Books Now Available

The price increase on Armstrong Heat Transfer Group products, Flow Measurement products and selected Armstrong Hot Water Group products excluding The Brain® and Water Heater packages went into effect July 3. Keeping Our Oceans Blue

Ocean going vessels take on ballast water that contains bacteria that needs to be treated before it can be dumped. The VERIS Flow Measurement Group played a key role by designing and constructing the model V800 VERIS Verabar® to meet the need of De Nora Water Systems – a leader in wastewater treatment for the marine industry. Read this case study to learn how the VERIS Flow Measurement Group is helping keep our oceans blue.

Plan Now For The Big Chill

Summer is here and while we may have the ac on, it won’t be long before winter winds blow again. Plan now for shut downs that will come when cold weather strikes. The Duramix with the Retromix option package can’t be beat. It features a large air handler coil to heat the make-up air. These coils are typically very large which makes handling difficult without dismantling plenum to get the new unit in place. Armstrong developed the Retromix option to solve this problem.

The Retromix option splits the original Duramix unit into two separate bundles for easier handling during installation. Normally all bundles pass through an STD door so no construction is required. Some reps have realized up to $20,000 in cost avoidance with this new installation option. Just like the previous coil, the Duramix can be handled with only one actuator and linkage placed in-between the coils when the bundle is attached onsite by the installer. The complete Duramix unit is adjusted before it’s shipped. The Retromix option is available on all Duramix size and type and can be adapted with any actuator and types (Centifeed Duramix or STD unit). Tired of light duty copper pressure parts for these air handler workhorses? Ask Armstrong about stainless steel construction. For more information, contact our applications engineers at 450-378-2655 and plan now for the big chill.

RMA Warranty Policy Reminder

The Armstrong Hot Water Group wants to remind you about its RMA & Warranty policy. All products and their respective warranty specifics are very clearly explained in each of their IOMs’ as well as in the price books. For any product claim made, the warranty policy only applies to true product defects, not as a result of misuse or mishandling which will NOT be covered under the RMA warranty policy. An example of a non-covered RMA product warranty claim would be the DRV and its industry leading 5-year warranty with an RMA that is for broken wires or wet electronics. These are not true product defects as they are a result of either misuse or mishandling and thus would NOT be covered under the RMA warranty policy. The RMA department is now enforcing this policy more strictly than it has in the past and the Armstrong Hot Water Group wanted to send a notice of this as a reminder. Thank you for your attention.
