STEAM, AIR, AND HOT WATER EDITION

Armstrong Industrial Rep Training School Returns This Fall

Armstrong is moving forward with plans to host two Industrial Market Representative Training Schools this fall. The first will be September 21-25 and the second will be held October 5-9. We recommend this school for salespeople that have been with your organization for a minimum of 6 months and are actively engaged in Armstrong University online training to enhance their experience in the Industrial Training School.

Your safety is our top priority and both schools will follow Covid19 guidelines and protocols. Attendance will be limited to 12 per school and the following practices will be followed:
  • Rep attendees and Armstrong presenters must arrive in healthy condition
  • Temperatures will be taken each day as rep attendee and presenters arrive
  • Masks must be worn at all times while inside Armstrong facilities (Masks will be provided by Armstrong if you do not have one)
  • One person per Learning Center training room table properly social distanced from others
  • Each table will have hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for attendees use
  • Learning Center training room will be sanitized each night
  • Armstrong presenters will wear face shield and will work from a sanitized mobile mic
  • Meals will be held on site with professional catering and proper distancing will be exercised while dining
  • Dining facilities will be sanitized after each use
  • Armstrong will work with the hotel to ensure rooms are properly cleaned and sanitized
  • We encourage all attendees to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves while traveling and during their stay in Three Rivers
View the draft agenda and contact Lori Masnari to register. Please specify your first and second choice of the school dates that you would like to attend, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your selection. We also recommend buying a refundable airline ticket in the event that Covid19 forces us to postpone the school. The Armstrong team looks forward to sharing product, sales and market knowledge to help you grow sales in the industrial market.

Webinar: Introducing the Rada Digital Faucet

Armstrong, the Digital Water Temperature Control pioneer, introduces the Rada Digital Faucet. The Brain® Digital Recirculating Valve first changed healthcare facility hot water design and operation by delivering a new, unparalleled level of hot water system temperature control. By introducing the Rada Digital Faucet, Armstrong continues to innovate by moving the digital technology already proven in the mechanical room downstream to the point of use.

Join us on July 7th or July 9th for an informative webinar to learn more about this new exciting product offering from the Hot Water Group.

Becoming A Premier Health Care Provider

MU Health Care has a simple vision to be Missouri’s premier academic health system. At MU’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia, MO, Armstrong was the premier choice to fulfill their mission for hot water generation, precise two-temperature control and hot water system monitoring and reporting.

The Armstrong DF8120PHF50-50-50-50BS Two-Temp Modular was sold by Mead O’Brien.

Here’s the breakdown of what the model nomenclature represents:

  • DF: Digital-Flo featuring The Brain
  • 8120P for parallel exchangers
  • H: Horizontal side-by-side exchangers instead of the traditional stacking.
  • F: Full-flow accommodated by upsized piping and connections.
  • 50-50-50-50: Four DRV50 for redundant control of two independent zones.
  • Two-Temp: Describes control of two independent temperature zones, in this case 140F and 110F, each with its own recirculation return inlet.
  • Modular: A total of six independent stands for ease of transporting to the installation site.

Food For Thought: Where’s The Beer And What Happened To My Chips?

Depleting CO2 supplies and a 25% increase in the purchase cost of this essential commodity have beer and other food producers on edge. This is primarily due to the Covid-19 pandemic forcing ethanol plants, a major contributor of CO2 to the beer, soda and food industry, to go idle or run at greatly reduced capacity. This is a big issue because the US food & beverage industry is projected to consume nearly *42,940 Kilotons of the stuff by 2025! This situation creates an opportunity for you in Flow Measurement and now is great time reach out to your food and beverage customer base to strike up a conversation on accurate measurement of CO2 supply.

Download this short PowerPoint and get started today. The time is right and there’s only around 2298 breweries in the U.S.

You Guessed It

Thanks for participating in the “What’s Wrong With This Photo” contest last month featuring an incorrect installation of The Brain®. While the photo provided a limited view of the system, it revealed several installation issues as the answers reveal. Congratulations to Michael Heitert of Mead O’Brien for being selected as the random drawing winner of the Armstrong golf shirt. Watch for another chance to play in August!

Process Air Heaters For Demanding Environments

Armstrong process air heaters are ideal for dryer applications such as conveyor dryers, spray dryers, flash dryers and fluid bed dryers found in power generation and pulp/paper plants. They are constructed of heavy-duty aluminum, copper, carbon and stainless steel and are able to withstand high pressure and high temperature environments. The removable coil (drawer type) design, makes them easy to clean and maintain. Armstrong can also design the units to provide your customers with more capacity to the dryer and increase the process output. Contact the Armstrong Heat Transfer Group at 450-378-2655 for more information and to request a quote.

New Humid-A-Ware Sizing Software Coming Soon

We’re in the process of finalizing an upgrade to Humid-A-Ware software that will contain the following improvements:
  • Load calculations based on real climatic data including economizer cycles
  • Web-based design – no more installing programs
  • Drawings created for several products with more coming soon
Look for the new software upgrade coming soon.
